So, per Harry's advice, I have installed a virtualbox in my fedora distribution. In that virtual box I am running Windows XP [service pack 3].

I have a shared drive on my computer that both the VB and fedora can access, and I put my photos there.

I have installed Photoshop CS3 Extended in the virtual box, and it runs like a CHARM.

Not even a lag., even when editing raw files.

I haven't tried the other options... but as this one works, and really well, I'm stopping here and enjoying it.

I recommend it. You get to use Linux AND Photoshop, and there's no changing partitions.

In conclusion: Bagels.

Having just changed from Ubuntu to Fedora, and having wiped my hard drive in the process [whee!] I now have alot of options.

Linux is my primary O.S., and switching from Linux to Windows to edit photos gets really old ... really fast.

Don't get me wrong, I love the gimp, and the whole open-source movement. But. Really... lets be serious, it's not as good as Photoshop. Flame away. It's just plain not. And all the raw editing programs are fairly lackluster.

Anywho, the entire purpose of writing this:

Who, if any of you have virtualbox installed on your linux system? And if any of you do, do you have Photoshop installed and how does it run? I've been hearing fairly good things, but I'm somewhat reticent. Or maybe I'm just lazy. It's one of those two anyway.

Anywho, thoughts? Ideas? Bagels?
