I need to live in a city.
Jan. 8th, 2007 09:32 amI'm not very picky where the city is, as long as its a city. This weekend just affirmed that. NYC is amazing - I took something lke 600 photos ... we'll see what came out though, cause a lot of them were street shots, and its been awhile since I did that. I forgot to put autofocus on a lot, and my aim may be off. I'll start going through those for reals tonight.
Most importantly RENT was .... there aren't even WORDS to describe how amazing it was. It was 2 and a half hours of Goosebumps, with me leaving knowing that I would never be able to watch the movie again, because it just doesn't even vaguely compare. The voices were thrilling and AMAZING. I think alot of them were much better than the OBC. I just ... well, I'm going to stop professing my love now.

The line waiting for open house

I managed to snap off these two shots of the RENT set before noticing the "We WILL fine you for using your camera within the theater at any time" post in the playbill

However because I'm badass, I set my camera to video, put it at the top of my backpack, and turned it on at three random intervals, expecting my battery to run out. I got a surprisingly large amount. You can't see anything, and the sound quality isn't amazing, but its something. Videos under the cut.
( Life Support -> Out Tonight, La Vie Boheme -> I Should Tell You -> La Vie Boheme 2, Seasons of Love )
As for the Parkour scene, I found a couple of nice spots, and had some fun. Only have one decent photo, because I think my parkour habits scare my friend. Let me tell you, the constant scaffolding in the city is awesome for underbars of all heights- jumping up to the top bar and spinning in and under through the little triangle is nothing but fun. We wandered to Union Square, and after taking photos of Skateboarders I left my camera and pack with my friend who was reading, and wandered off to see if there was any PK spots nearby. I found some picnic tables by a bunch of railings - precisions, landing from height, and just started having fun - kongs, precisions, vaults and underbars... All of a sudden, I look up and I've attracted a small crowd. I almost put my hat out, heh, I could've made like 5 dollars in quarters!
This is by the NYU hospital.

Far more photos to come. Long story short, I love the city.
P.S. Adobe's internship application is the least clear thing, evar.
