and so it begins
Aug. 10th, 2006 02:46 pmMore terrorist action at the airports in Heathrow London... the plane was headed to the U.S., yikes. I just left there... for the U.S. and all my isis pals could be stuck doing a transfer in that security madness.
First things first: right now I'm listening to:
Bad Day - Daniel Powter
So after some thought I finally decided how I'm going to do my england pictures. I'm going to go through them in order, and pick 11 as I go, (nice random number)... I'll use a cut for about half I think, especially all the ones I keep fairly large. I'll try to do 2 posts a day, at very far apart times so its not too much clutter- I probably won't end up with 2 often though.
I'll be honest, I'm not amazingly happy with the england crop, I was too busy to REALLY focus most of the time, but its more about the memories anyway.
The cut is the little picture of the door.... all the doors on campus had pull handles... even when they pushed. very confusing.
I'll also do a little blurb about some specific aspect. ready? LETS GO!
MY JOB
I was an activity leader, basically a camp counselor. Weekdays we're split into three sessions, during morning and afternoon, the students have free time or lessons. If they have free time their either doing an onsite activity, e.g. football, swimming, arts and crafts. or their on an excursion, e.g. stratford-upon-avon, Oxford University: Christ Church College, or a museum. We do the activities and the excursions. Groups of 40-60 go on excursions with 2 activity leaders... their level of english is usually poor. Evening activities occur everyday (even weekends) and have film, sports, and something special like a disco (house music is wicked popular in europe and morocco, btw) Weekend days are full-day excursions (e.g. London, Brighton, Bath, Warwick Castle) We also do transfers (pickups and dropoffs of students at the airport. You work one 3 session day a week, all the rest are 2 session days. One day off per week.
And that was my job... sorry for all the text. Heres some pictures to make up for it!
Fuelling my reflection obsession via the propellor of my plane
