Day 99/365

This is what I look like when I'm trying to convince you to hire me.

Tonight was the career fair on campus. It went very well. A couple of companies expressed very sincere interest, one is going to call soon, one wants me to put in an application, and the third I have an interview for friday. Yikes.

In other news. First rehearsal tonight. Noises Off is going to be awesome and insane all at once. The set is ridiculous, it revolves. We have to strike all the props army style because theres a window in the middle, and doors are opening and closing. Immediately following this, theres a yell, and we turn the stage, meanwhile a mic is being set, more props are being cleared, and lights backstage are being pulled. As soon as the stage is turned, I run to my place at the fly for a cyk while backboards are being put in place. You want to see this show.

Kinda.

We're doing an intermission between act one and act two (and they get a new program for the show within the show when they come back) But we're not doing the turn of the set till after everyone comes back.

The chaotic set of cues referred to above however is between act II and act III, and nope, we're not intermissioning there. Which means all of that has to happen in... 1 minute...2 minutes MAX.

That's a good photo!

And good luck on the job hunt - and with Noises Off. I can't think of a more energetic show - for everybody involved. It's a magical show!

I'm really excited for the show - I'm crewing so it goes down next weekend (yikes)

My friend is the SM, and I've been hearing about sardines for month... never really understood till tonight.

hahaha, nope.

Funnily enough, my nano-novel last year (which I did not even come close to finishing or meeting the goal) was about a door to door satan evangelist. He went from door to door buying souls.

i dunno. something a bit weird and scary about such a big hand being pushed towards my face.

my favorite career fair story: a former co-worker of mine moved to Calif with her husband. she'd been doing desktop support for years and was tired of it but wasn't sure what she wanted to do. on a whim she went to a local career fair without even taking a resume. she looked around the room at all of the grim faces and shook her head. then, from a back corner, she heard laughter.

"that's where i want to work!" she said.

she went back towards the laughter and ended up talking with a group of people from cisco for a while. they liked her so much they asked for a resume. she didn't have one but decided she'd write one up on the spot for them. in crayon.

she got the job.

(hope you do to -- one with some laughter to it!)

haha, sorry to be creepy.

Thats an awesome (and hilarious) story. cisco actually has an office near me and I was considering applying to them.

Thanks for the well-wishing, I appreciate it.

Goddamn, don't you look like Mr.Businessman! Sharp dressed men are impressive.

Noises off is a good play. It sounds like you're going to have fun. I do want to see the show!

As for the what your picture reminds me of, a scene from one of my favorite movies The Rocky Horror Picture Show:

hey so I found your journal through searching for 365 projects. I'm in my tenth month of doing a 365 project too. Except mine isn't comprised of self portraits. I only do a self portrait once a month. But I hope you don't mind if I add you. Feel free to check out mine and add me back if you want.
