There is no way I will actually do this every monday, but it's fun to pretend, right? I'll try to highlight a band I've recently found, or that I just plain like, that you may also like.

Cajun Dance Party

Amylase [mp3 download]

Cajun Dance Party is a band based out of London, England that fits nicely into the brit-pop category. It's got spunk and energy, and they generally just make you want to dance all up in your chair. Not in that Mm-cc mm-cc mm-cc club way, but in that running in the yard when you're little kinda way. They're not the most creative artists to come in the past century, but they're totally diggable and fun to listen to.

The band is made of 5 members: Daniel Blumberg, Robbie Stern, Max Bloom, Vicky Freund, and Will Vignoles. Kickin' it with vocals, guitar, bass, keys and drums, in that order. They're efficiently catchy, and successfully leave you head-bobbing and repeating their rhythyms in your head far after you've listened to their music.

They started at the age of 15 in 2005, playing music for the battle of the bands at their school. Considering their young start, they're especially impressive... and yes, unlike american pop stars, they write all their own music. They sound remarkably similar to The Wombats, another awesome brit-pop band. Who most of you probably know for the song Let's Dance to Joy Division

The Next Untouchable [mp3 download]

They have one full length album released, The Colourful Life. It was released in April, 2008 on XL recordings. I am not going to release links to full albums in these posts, but you can find a free download if you search.
