Self Pride.
Apr. 27th, 2007 11:56 amI shot the dance concert last night. I'm ridiculously proud of how they came out. It was a lot of moving and going and it was low light, and a lot of work, but all 100% worth it. Obviously they're not the best things ever, but considering the light and the fact that they were consistently moving quickly... damn straight I'm proud. There are 33 photos in this post, as a dial-up warning, mainly because I'm too lazy to cut down.
Something just clicked and felt so right while I was doing it. It felt natural, and it was perfectly and completely satisfying. Not too sound to cheesy (too late) but it felt like me and my camera were one piece, working fluidly together.
My favorite routine, by far was a tap piece to Jumper by Third Eye Blind They really listened to the lyrics and you could see that in the piece. It gave me literal goosebumps. I'll point out that piece in the photos. I usually don't have the patience for dance concerts - the entire company did a phenomenal job, I wasn't bored once - but enthralled the whole time.
EDIT: Wow. My monitor makes these a lot prettier than the school monitors.
