Summer Samba [So Nice] - Real Book Project - Day 2

Walter Wanderly Trio version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbHkgWD3gk4

This one is not quite where I want it yet, but I'll try again

The goal of this project is to play every song in the real book, and to improve my tone and overall skills as a trombone player in the process. Eventually I'd love to get some kind of comping or background, or... some way to make this more than just a reading of a lead sheet. For now though, this works! Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Somehow I have the feeling that "you are so incredibly cute talking about and playing this silly music" ... isn't the response you're looking for.

Did you record this in your Dad's garage? I remember you said he owns a hardware store. It looks as if you are in the hardware store.

I heard this live a few times a couple of summers ago during my stays up at Amber Fox in Ontario. The lover of the property owner plays clarinet and including a really mellow version of this when he would do these little evening musicales after, or sometimes during dinner. He had a little karaoke track that played underneath. It was sweet. And ... kind of goofy. This almost sounds as if it was witten to play in a dentist's waiting room, or elevator.

Excellent! Sounds like you're really getting there.

Good to hear your voice too!

Good choice ...and you come across good in your videos
and "you are so incredibly cute talking about and playing this silly music"

Hey, it's nifty that you've changed the background for this video... and your patter and the playing are delightful.
Thanks for making "the real book" real in your own special way.
