Hey Everyone. Remember when this was a photoblog? Photos every day? Well. We're going to start doing that again. I've been saving for a new camera for a bit, and the time had come. I'm not looking to replace my D-300, or any of my film cameras, it's simply that... they're too damn big and heavy to carry everywhere conveniently. I find myself too lazy too open the camera bag and open it at times. A few months ago, chrisglass introduced his new camera, the GF-1, and I've been seeing the results since, and I was impressed. It's a small, micro 4/3s camera. All the power, control, and sensor size of a regular DSLR, plus interchangeable lenses, in a pocketable camera. This is perfect. Yesterday I picked up it's newer version the GF-2, and I feel confident it's carry-with ability will mean more photos. hopefully 5-day-a-week updates again, and a return to my photo-journaling past. A lot of ... mayhem in my world lately, photo-outlet-tastic.






I've started playing Pokemon. I think this is a good reason to make fun of me.

Nice shots!
I dusted off my DSLR last weekend, going to shoot some more this weekend.

I know a couple people shooting micro 4/3s and they all love it. The quality's on par with SLR's for sure. I'm not sure I can give up an SLR viewfinder myself, I'm just a bit too wedded to it!
That said, next time I need to upgrade camera bodies I'm going to take a good look at the state of the micro 4/3s cameras and their viewfinders.

Oh, and the pokemon games are kind of awesome. Haven't played one in years, but I'm tempted to pick them up via emulator for my android phone.

I miss the viewfinder, but like I said, this isn't replacing my DSLR, it's just for my day-to-day carrying. For all my paid gigs I'll still be using the DSLR.

I forgot how much I loved them, I haven't played in like 15 years.

It was for an indoor dark-restaurant family event and my flash crapped out on the first shot, I highly doubt I got anything worth posting. ;-)
Still, it's spring, and time to stop hibernating and get back out into the world. *nods fervently*

The reflected self portrait is perfectly genius... the matching color palette, the composition, the ambiguity of planes. Actually, it's so good it defies analysis. This one goes in your Portfolio! (you do have one, don't you ?)

I was looking for a new camera to replace my point-and-shoot and wanted to finally get a DSLR but feared I wouldn't carry it around as much. So I got a micro four-thirds instead. Really looking forward to playing with it.
