For those of you who don't know, I play trombone in a kickin' brass band called the Dirty Water Brass Band. We have an awesome time and play a ton of very different tunes. Actually, we're up to about 40 tunes now.

Relatedly if you know anyone in the area looking for a band for Mardi Gras - we're seeking a gig.

Mint Julep at Rendezvous

Lets see. More no sleep [yay], woke up and played guitar for a bit, free beers at work, big presentation at work that went well, and in which I actually started falling asleep. Big US lawsuit against our 3 biggest competitors [yay], dinner at rendezvous with my friend Justin, then home, where I actually, finally fell asleep. It was glorious. I fell asleep at like 9, and for the most part stayed asleep until 7:30.

Self-Portrait in Dodgeball attire

Well, I got my new laptop yesterday! HOORAY! It's super pretty, but it came into work, and we're in a super crunch period now, and I knew if I opened it I would get nothing done, so I ignored it until after work, when we had dodgeball, which went amazingly. In fact, I lasted like 4 minutes alone against the most... scary team in the league - one maneuver included a wall run. Yes that's pride you sense. After dodgeball, and the standard post-dodgeball beers with the kids, went home and set up my new laptop. Watched some being human, and failed at sleeping again.

Self-Portrait with GF-2 on the T

Hey Everyone. Remember when this was a photoblog? Photos every day? Well. We're going to start doing that again. I've been saving for a new camera for a bit, and the time had come. I'm not looking to replace my D-300, or any of my film cameras, it's simply that... they're too damn big and heavy to carry everywhere conveniently. I find myself too lazy too open the camera bag and open it at times. A few months ago, [livejournal.com profile] chrisglass introduced his new camera, the GF-1, and I've been seeing the results since, and I was impressed. It's a small, micro 4/3s camera. All the power, control, and sensor size of a regular DSLR, plus interchangeable lenses, in a pocketable camera. This is perfect. Yesterday I picked up it's newer version the GF-2, and I feel confident it's carry-with ability will mean more photos. hopefully 5-day-a-week updates again, and a return to my photo-journaling past. A lot of ... mayhem in my world lately, photo-outlet-tastic.

38 days of LJ Meme : Day 1 : Introduce Yourself

I'm Todd H. Page.

I'm a 24 year old codger.

I grew up in Guilford, Connecticut, a small town with 3 stop lights and about 18,000 people when I was growing up. It's a large town with a plethora of farms, over 50 square miles. It's a typical New England town, with a town green surrounded by churches and shops. It's the kind of town where everyone knows everyone elses name and business.

I spent 12 years working at my dad's hardware store, which was on that town green. I worked there from the age of 7 to 19.

I went to College at Providence College, in Providence, Rhode Island. I enjoyed my time there although I had issues with school politics. Great teachers and friends that I am still very much in touch with.

From there I moved to the Boston area, where I have been since. I work as an Actionscript [Flash] Developer. I currently make online casino games for Everest Casino [http://everestcasino.com] I love programming, though it's not what I started school for, or what I ever would have pictured myself doing for a living. It's pretty friggin fun though.

I rock climb. It's pretty much my main physical outlet. I rather enjoy it, really. I play trombone in a jazz band [we're playing at HONK! this weekend!!], I did long form improv for a long time. I'm looking to get back into it. I play video games! I read comics and webcomics. I read books, too. I've begun taking up knitting. Rather enjoying that. I built sets for a while, and I really enjoy theatre.

Music is a ginormous part of my life.

I've learned to express myself with my camera. I love that.

I overextend myself alot, but I'm usually fine with it. I enjoy the things I do, even if they take alot of time. My friends and I have worked balance into our lives and we make time to hang out.

I'm a queermosexual and a late bloomer. I tend to like fuzzier menfolk. Usually larger than me.

I'm shyer than anyone truly believes.

I push myself alot.

I'm a little neurotic. A lot obsessive.

I am a dog person.

I love my initials.

I am THP.

And when that happened, this is how I looked.

So I decided I would take a self-portrait of it.

Big project thing soon, honest.

"Though the years give way to uncertainty
And the fear of living for nothing strangles the will
There's a part of me - that speaks to the heart of me
Though sometimes it's hard to see - it's never far from me
Alive in Eternity
That nothing can Kill"

Sometimes you just need to sit back and listen to some of your favorite albums. Over and over.

This picture is REALLY old

Hi!

You are all probably a little bit like "what the fuck happened to that Todd dude? He was totally right here, and then he all disappeared."

This happens a couple times of years with me. I'm here! A bit crazed, maybe. But here!

As soon as I figure out how to correctly scan my negatives, I will be beginning another year-long project. I'm shooting 2 rolls of film a week. I'll be posting one for each day. Or more likely, one each weekday.

Yarp.

How are you? I've been reading your journals, but you know. Just wanted to say hi.

"But I feel lonely for all the losers that will never take the time to say
what's really on their mind
instead, they just hide away.

Yet they'll never have someone like you to guide them or help them on the way
or tell them when it's time to say I love you.

So tell me when it's time to say I love you."

Sometimes you just need to do that "This is me with my camera up and in the mirror" shot.

Every once in a while you just have to.

There's a rule, somewhere. I'm sure of it.
